La Trompette is a hidden jewel of modern European dining, nestled in the charming enclave of Chiswick, London. This Michelin-starred restaurant offers a sophisticated yet warm atmosphere, perfectly complementing its high-caliber culinary offerings. Reviews boast of elegant decor, with thoughtful touches like abstract artwork and well-structured seating arrangements, creating an inviting environment for all guests.
Highlighting British cuisine with a twist, La Trompette excels in crafting dishes that are both innovative and traditional. Diners rave about the delectable homemade bread and butter, which set a sophisticated tone from the start. Standout dishes include tender pork cheeks bathed in a rich sauce and the delightful artichoke soup with chorizo. Though some elements, like the fish with laksa sauce, may not dazzle, the chocolate and peanut delice dessert has received unanimous praise for its exquisite balance of flavors.
Service is generally attentive, with staff eager to accommodate requests, though some reviewers noted that improvement could be made in sommelier guidance. Overall, La Trompette promises a memorable dining experience with dishes that reflect both passion and craftsmanship, making it a worthy choice for special occasions or a romantic evening out.

My favorite type of fancy restaurant: the interior is elegant, well designed but not over-the-top. La Trompette contrary to its name specializes in quality traditional British. They go as far as baking their own bread and making their own butter. The meats and sauces and amazing, the vegetable additions are very innovative yet reinforcing the traditional style. On top of it all, the presentation is 3 Michelin Star level, whether or not they have some (I didn’t check). They restored our faith in British cuisine.

Amazing experience. Expensive, but definitely worth it. Chicken, duck, avocado, bread are great. The cheese selection tasting as the desert is nice as well (if you decide to choose Strathearn cheese, be prepared for very strong and unexpected taste). Portion size is good and you can expect to leave the restaurant satisfied. I think it's a great choice for a rare lunch/dinner out or a date.

A Michelin-starred gem tucked away on a quiet side street near Turnham Green station, offers a refined dining experience with a few highs and lows. The restaurant’s decor balances elegance and warmth, with grey paneling, sand-colored wallpaper, and striking abstract artwork. A welcome desk at the entrance features a Graham wine display with bronze bowls, setting a sophisticated tone. White tablecloths with a brown, sack-like design add a rustic touch, though the wooden-backed chairs are not the most comfortable. The space is well-structured, with a substantial number of tables for two, mirrors enhancing the sense of space, and a bar at the far end. Some outdoor seating is available for those who prefer al fresco dining. The meal started well with excellent bread and butter, but the Negroni was disappointingly average. Ordered from the set lunch with only two poor ions per course and there was also the option of the lunch menu with a half dozen option per course. The artichoke soup with chorizo was a pleasant surprise—despite initial concerns that the chorizo might overpower the dish, it added both depth of flavor and visual appeal. For mains, the fish with laksa sauce was enjoyable but not remarkable. The fish itself was well-executed, crispy on the outside, but the laksa sauce was unmemorable. The pork cheeks, however, were outstanding—fall-apart tender, with a rich and flavorful sauce. Desserts were a mixed bag. The blood orange sorbet was underwhelming, tasting like a generic citrus blend, but the lychee sorbet was much better. The standout was the chocolate and peanut delice slice—a beautifully layered dessert with a crunchy peanut base and a delicate milk ice cream that complemented it subtly. The petit four caramel was another highlight. Service was attentive throughout, and the ambiance was pleasant, though it became notably busier around 1:30 PM. Overall, La Trompette delivers a solid Michelin-starred experience, though some dishes outshine others. Would return, but with slightly adjusted expectations.the set lunch is excellent value for money.

We has such a lovely dinner last Friday. Everything was excellent and just as it should be. The waiter who took our order was happy to make suggestions and they were all very good . I was very impressed with how well the reception staff responded to our changing numbers (5 became 3, then 4) without fuss or criticism, all of which helped along our enjoyment of the evening. Tiniest note of criticism - sommelier could have been a bit more helpful. But it didn't spoil our meal - the food was heavenly!

the experience was great overall, it is located in a very quiet neighbourhood in west London. When we were there, the majority of the customers inside were people who were above 50 yrs old. But the food was good. Standard high end restaurant quality.

Great restaurant serving modern European food with seasonal ingredients. Classic cookery done superbly well with really inventive combinations. Had a Sunday set lunch that had amazing options and everything that everyone had looked and tasted great. They were friendly, polite and polished. The space is neutral but tastefully decorated and it feels like you are somewhere a bit special but not pretentious. Bravo they clearly know what they are doing and and it's a well oiled and established operation. Thank you for a lovely meal and I will be back!
